Hugo Lloris refuses to compare Kylian Mbappe with Messi

According to Hugo Lloris, Messi is a unique player and no one can compare to the Argentine striker, not even Kylian Mbappe.

Messi’s Argentina have already qualified for the 2026 World Cup and the reigning champions are on course to defend their world crown. Argentina’s 2022 final loser, France, is also determined to reclaim the crown.

The two names Kylian Mbappe and Leo Messi continue to be expected to be the leaders of the two teams in the tournament on North American soil. The person who was defeated by Messi three times at Lusail in 2022 – goalkeeper Hugo Lloris praised the player born in 1987 and affirmed that no one can compare to La Pulga.

Sharing on La Nacio, Lloris said: ” Is Mbappe like Messi? I don’t think so. Because Leo is unique. I don’t think any player can compare to Messi. I also don’t think that the Argentina national team will participate in the 2026 World Cup without Messi.

He will definitely be there next year. He will continue to play and enjoy his time on the pitch. Of course, the final decision is Messi’s. But I believe that every fan would like to see Messi play in North America next year.

I admire Leo a lot. For me, he is also the best player, among the best. There is no doubt about it. I am lucky to be born in the generation where I can watch Messi play and also play against him.

Lloris has retired from the French national team after the 2022 World Cup. Messi continues to play for Argentina. Both are currently playing in MLS and Lloris’ LAFC will face Inter Miami in the CONCACAF Champions Cup on April 3.
