In round 11 of MLS 2025, Lionel Messi and close friend Luis Suarez both scored, helping Inter Miami regain the joy of victory.

In the 9th minute, Fafa Picault opened the scoring for Inter Miami. From a pass from Marcelo Weigandt, Luis Suarez headed the ball for Picault to finish close to the goal, giving the opposing goalkeeper no chance to block.

Weigandt doubled the lead in the 30th minute. Suarez made it 3-0 nine minutes later. The Uruguayan striker finished decisively in his second attempt, after his first shot was blocked by the goalkeeper. The New York Red Bulls managed to reduce the gap before the break, but that was the best the visitors could do in the match.

In the second half, Inter Miami maintained their dominance. In the 67th minute, Messi restored the three-goal lead with a brilliant combination with Telasco Segovia. After the combination with his teammate, the Argentine superstar finished with a tricky left foot shot, sealing a 4-1 victory for Inter Miami.

The goal ended Messi’s four-game goalless streak and helped Inter Miami move up to fourth place in the MLS Eastern Conference standings.

The match was also a valuable morale booster for David Beckham’s side after a run of three consecutive defeats, including a 1-5 aggregate loss to Vancouver Whitecaps in the CONCACAF Champions Cup semi-finals in midweek.
