Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection: A Celestial Masterpiece.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars introduces the exclusive Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection, a series of 25 exquisite vehicles inspired by the rarely seen phenomenon of a solar eclipse.

These remarkable bespoke commissions celebrate the mesmerizing interplay of light and darkness, mirroring the awe-inspiring moment when the Moon conceals the Sun.

In the words of Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, “With Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis, we draw inspiration from a total solar eclipse: a seldom-seen and spellbinding phenomenon that reflects the rarity and beauty of Rolls-Royce Private Collections.

In capturing the magic of this celestial alignment, our Bespoke Collective of designers, engineers, and craftspeople have once again elevated contemporary craftsmanship, with a landmark series of exquisite details that project the marque’s culture of ambition and excellence.

We are exceptionally proud to present these motor cars to 25 of our most significant clients around the world – it is these individuals who inspire greatness within our brand, and who drive us to create ever more bold and richly detailed expressions of modern luxury.”

This limited collection marries the purity of the Rolls-Royce Ghost with the subversive Black Badge spirit, providing the perfect canvas for expressing the awe of this cosmic spectacle.

To coincide with the launch, these highly bespoke motor cars arrive as a tribute to the annular solar eclipse visible in parts of the Western Hemisphere on October 14th.

The mystique and ethereal essence of a total solar eclipse are encapsulated in the Lyrical Copper exterior color of the motor car. This remarkable bespoke finish incorporates powdered copper pigment, appearing dark until it catches the light, revealing a rich and dramatic iridescence.

Mandarin accents embellish the inserts below the Pantheon Grille and brake calipers, evoking the intense bursts of sunlight as the eclipse unfolds.

The same Mandarin hue graces the hand-painted coachline, featuring a delicate abstract representation of the transition from sunlight to darkness as the Moon approaches its moment of zenith.

The Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis features a fully bespoke Starlight Headliner that transcends the ordinary, providing a special animation that captures the essence of the eclipse. As the coach doors close and the engine roars to life, the ‘stars’ within the Starlight Headliner dim, initiating a mesmerizing sequence that replicates the totality of a solar eclipse.

A circle of 940 ‘stars’ emerges, symbolizing the bright corona of light encircling the lunar silhouette, surrounded by an additional 192 illuminating ‘stars,’ recreating the surreal spectacle of stars visible in the daylight sky during a total solar eclipse.

This enchanting animation persists for precisely seven minutes and 31 seconds – the maximum duration of a total solar eclipse. Once this celestial spectacle concludes, the full constellation of ‘stars’ in the night sky is restored, infusing a sense of theatre and wonder for all those within the vehicle.

The Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection is not merely a car but a celestial masterpiece. It exemplifies the marriage of cutting-edge design and timeless luxury, appealing to those who seek the extraordinary.
